About Captiva Lane
I am an incredibly dull millennial living her best life right now, as I am happily married and have two beautiful children that are simply hilarious. We love pugs and Siamese cats, and on occasion the odd hamster. To compensate for my dullness, I'd like to think my writing is the complete opposite, which is hopefully a good balance. Other than my husband, children, family and friends that fill my life, writing stories is my favourite place to be.
I have zero qualifications for writing and I think that makes it more fun, creative and passionate. Do I have a degree? Yes. Is it relevant to being an author? Absolutely not. Do I have an employment history? Yes. Are any of the roles relevant to being an author? Not at all. I write because I can and because I love it, not because I'm qualified or spent decades in the field. My life has taken many twists and turns and one thing I can confirm is that whatever I put my mind to, it has my undivided attention, passion and commitment.
I have spent many years writing in secret, sharing my finished books with a select handful of people, wishing I could be brave enough to share them further. I figure now, at this late stage in life, is a good a time as any. Ultimately the fear of the unknown is pointless - I may as well share my books, as I had always intended and let fate decide their destinies. I hope to anyone that reads any of my books that you forget the time, the day and get lost in the chapters, enjoying each page turn yet frantically hoping it doesn't finish too soon. If you feel that reading my books, I'll know I've done something right.
I love the colour blue, pretty much any kind of pizza and cereal is an ideal meal any time of day. The older I've gotten, the more different types of cheeses I have got to eat and appreciate. I take life too seriously, frantically worry about the what ifs and the could be's, and I am always up for a good joke. I've never been very good at getting up in the morning. I forget social media exists, until I fall down a rabbit hole watching videos or saving pinterest boards for another day.
